Psalm 57 vs.1
"Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed."
The central part has white muslin raised with gesso, to give a representation of wings. Since these areas are raised there are shadowed spaces.
Gold jap thread, (God), surrounds the 'wings' and immediate area, giving 'protected space'.
Within this space are gold areas worked in oil pastel revealing the glory of God.
The blue outer areas represent the storms and trials of life – disordered and chaotic.
God reaches into the worst of storms – gold threads representing God permeate throughout the turbulence.
Glimmers of hope occur where you would least expect – shining beads in the storm.
Life is a mixture of turbulence and peace – seen in the netted area with gold beads of God's light amongst the blues and greens of earthly life.
