Thread Rocks! - Moeraki Boulders
Moeraki Boulders‘Concretions’ up to 3m in diameter and formed 60 million years ago, fall from eroding cliffs on New Zealand’s Otago coastline. According to Maori legend, the boulders are gourds washed ashore from the great voyaging canoe Araiteuru when it was wrecked upon landfall in New Zealand hundreds of years ago.
